Mô tả Công việc
The International Trade Compliance Specialist will support the processes and procedures established to ensure department compliance with international regulations. This position will focus on ensuring compliance with international regulations concerning product classification, tariff determinations, and trade program eligibility.
Tariff Classification: Determine correct Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) numbers for products, ensuring compliance with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) guidelines within deadlines.
Trade Program Eligibility: Determine whether or not product is eligible for any special trade programs such as Generalized System of Preference (GSP) or Free Trade Agreements (FTA). Determine if product is subject to special trade requirements such as Antidumping Duty (ADD), Countervailing Cuty (CVD) or visa/quota restrictions.
Monitoring Compliance: Stay updated on changes in trade programs and regulations, ensuring timely system updates and escalating issues to management.
Country Approval Requests: Process and update country approval requests in line with internal guidelines.
Database Maintenance: Maintain and update the classification database with accurate product information and documentation.
SOP Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the classification team.
Classification Review Preparation: Prepare materials for classification review, ensuring justifications are ready for presentation.
Collaboration: Work with internal teams to provide tariff and duty estimates for new products, supporting cost assessments and resolving classification issues.
Binding Ruling Requests: Prepare formal requests to CBP for classification confirmation and update systems with the outcomes.
Support Customs Entry Team: Assist in responding to CBP inquiries, providing necessary classification information.
International Correspondence: Manage international documentation according to U.S. customs regulations.
Regulation Compliance Updates: Monitor and communicate updates on Customs regulations to management.
Yêu Cầu Công Việc
Education:
· Associate Degree in Logistics & Supply Chain, Business Administration, International Business, or related major, etc.
Experience:
· 1 - 2 years of related work such as Import/Export Documentation, Logistics, Customs, etc.
· Experience in dealing with CBP, Harmonized Tariff Schedule and Import Documentation (Preferred).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Compulsory: Good English (4 skills)
· Basic understanding of U.S. Customs regulations and compliance requirements;
· Strong understanding and interpretation of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS);
· Ability to gain a basic understanding of supply chain systems/management;
· Strong attention to detail;
· Document management systems;
· Ability to analyze, research, and assess international trade regulations;
· Exhibits a high level of integrity and maintains confidentiality.
